The discipline of Information Systems (IS) deals with how Information and Communications Technology (ICT) can be used to solve business problems, support the decision making process as well as help achieving strategic goals. The focus is on developing and using cutting-edge solutions to solve important organizational problems as well as transforming technological capabilities into business capabilities. Based on that understanding, the group has established various research streams within, including Information infrastructures, semantic e-government and open government; Business Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Enterprise Systems and E-business and Social Networks.
