Library

The GUC Library is a one of the support functions for the Research activities of the GUC whether in Egypt or in Germany. It hosts scientific and academic online databases that give access to millions of primary sources for research purposes, in addition to on-line services that cover different disciplines and books in different fields. The Collections available are in German, English and Arabic as well as some collections in French.

The current system is KOHA, which offers functions such as cataloging, circulation, acquisition, and library reports. The Catalog is offered to all users within GUC campus

GUC library is member of the South-West Library Association in the State of Baden-Württemberg in Germany, member of Egyptian Libraries Association and a member of International Committee of Libraries in Egypt. The library is connected to the library's network in the State of Baden-Württemberg (Germany) and the Egyptian Universities Online Network with accessibility to its major online databases. The library has access to the KIZ online library of Ulm - Germany, where GUC members are recognized as a member of the network at Ulm and may use services available in Ulm, especially e-journals

The library databases and online journals are all accessible throughout the entire GUC Campus via wired or wireless connectivity, as well as off-campus as a service for the members.

The GUC Library is located in the (-1) Level of (C1) Building and has a seating capacity of 220 seats in a pleasant surrounding offering an inviting space for reading, in addition to more than 700 PC's (PC Pools) that are connected directly to the Library and the availability of laptops and wireless technology throughout the campus grounds.

Membership

The GUC Library Membership and Accessibility is open for all its Under- and Post-Graduate Students, as well as the GUC Academic and Administrative Staff. Currently, the library has more than 6000 users classified as follows

On average, the library receives around 15000 visitors per month; an average of 580 visits per day.
