This Course is offered to 7th semester Water Resources Major
The goals of this course are to develop an understanding of planning, and design of irrigation and drainage systems such as surface, subsurface of irrigation and drainage, fundamental of irrigation structures and elements of sprinkler and drip irrigations. An overview for irrigation structures for control and distribution of water on the canals and field levels. Introduction to the drainage types, factors influencing selection and design. The environmental impact of irrigation and drainage projects in general. Advanced and innovative concepts on irrigation and drainage planning and design are discussed; and theories are supported by field visit and semester project.
