Bridge Engineering Design - Offered to 7th semester Structural Major (CIS 705)

Description

This Course is offered to 7th semester Structural Engineering Major
Based on the knowledge acquired by the students during the previous courses (Structural Analysis I, II, & III), and (Reinforced Concrete Design I, II, & III), this course provides some basic ideas about the topics related to the classifications, analysis, design and construction of R.C. and Steel bridges. Learning the different types and actions applied on bridges according to Egyptian & AASHTO codes. Modelling of bridges using some un-orthodox materials available in the market. At the end of this course, the student should have a basic understanding of the concept analysis and design of different types of bridges. The different loading cases and code requirements concerning this topic are presented.
