Construction Management III is a distinguished compulsory course for civil engineering students of the major General Civil Engineering in their last semester. It is clearly considered a pre-master course. The course contents are significant for engineers working in the project management and tendering and would give them a strong edge once entering the job market. Logic sequence of courses: The prerequisite courses Construction Management I and II form the base knowledge for all civil engineering students in construction methodologies and basic management tools. Construction Contracts and Project Administration enable the students to establish contract checks and prepare a job estimate. In Construction Management III, students of the 10th semester shall use this knowledge to comprehen-sively study and evaluate an entire project under all aspects. Students will be given tender documents and the aim is to prepare bid documents, under certain criteria given. This will include contract studies and qualifications, design checking, quantity survey (in certain parts), complete scheduling, cost estimation, cash-flow establishment and pricing. Formulation of the bid submission shall conclude the aforementioned tasks. It is intended to have students work in groups, acting like a tender team, responsibly organizing themselves, to perform a comprehensive task on time.
