Description
The main objective of this course is to expose the students to different design aspects and technologies used to build Web pages and/or Web applications. Different Web languages covered include server-side and client-side scripting. The following topics are covered by this course:
- Languages: HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, XML, SGML, XHTML, VRML, PHP, MySQL, ASP, JavaScript and Java Applets.
- Web Design: site design, information architecture, design of various types of pages, page dimensions; typography aspects; Web accessibility for disabled users.
- Usability Engineering: Usability aspects, Why is the user so important? What can usability do for the user? Steps in usability engineering; How to test usability, evaluation methods.
