Description
MATH203 continues with topics of calculus of a single variable and adds concepts of linear algebra. The algebraic structure of linear spaces are introduced and extended to functions and differential equations. At the end of this course, the student will be able to use and understand concepts from calculus and linear algebra like:finite and infinite series and sequences, approximations by Taylor and Maclaurin expansions and polynomials, vectors in linear spaces, vectors and matrices, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, solve linear systems of equations, identify solvability of systems of equations, understand the concept of linear vector spaces, and apply linear vector space concepts to solve linear first and second order ordinary differential equations. The purpose of this course is to extend the basic concepts of calculus and introduce concepts from linear algebra applied to functions and differential equations.
