The course is designed to teach the biotechnology students the basics and the advanced concept of immunology. It is a multidisciplinary course equipping the students with an understanding of role of immune system in combating infection and diseases, difference between the innate and adaptive immune systems, different pathways of complement activation, influencing, chemical nature of immunogen, the nature of Ag-Ab reactions, production of monoclonal antibodies, immunization and production of vaccines, concepts of autoimmunity and disease, Evidence of for immune reactivity to tumor, immunodeficiency in AIDS, Aging and apoptosis in relation to the immune system.
