GUC Honors Top Thanaweya Amma Students with Full Scholarships

The German University in Cairo (GUC) recently celebrated the exceptional achievements of top Thanaweya Amma (Egyptian High School Certificate) students by awarding them full scholarships. These programs aim to support outstanding students throughout their academic journey at GUC.

 

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at GUC, hosted a welcoming reception to award scholarships to the top Egyptian Thanaweya Amma graduates and top students from various governorates. The scholarships cover full tuition, housing (when applicable), and a monthly stipend, allowing students to pursue degrees in Engineering Technology, Pharmacy and Biotechnology, Management Technology, or Applied Sciences and Arts. The German University in Cairo (GUC) has offered a total of 756 scholarships from the academic year 2003/2004 to 2024/2025.

 

Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the German University in Cairo, stated that the university currently has 30,000 graduates, of whom 8,000 are pursuing advanced studies such as master's and doctoral degrees at prestigious global universities. Meanwhile, the remaining graduates have secured positions in top companies and institutions, reflecting the high level of trust that society places in graduates of the German University in Cairo.

 

Prof. Dr. Mansour mentioned that the university's relationship with its alumni does not end but rather extends and continues throughout all stages. He highlighted that the university is committed to staying connected with its alumni around the world. The latest instance of this was an invitation extended to 30 alumni studying and working in Europe to meet him in Stuttgart. Of those invited, 27 attended, while the remaining were unable to join due to their presence in Egypt during that period.

 

Prof. Dr. Yasser Hegazy, President of GUC, addressed the recipients, highlighting that the university's success is the result of 20 years of hard work and commitment to becoming one of the top-ranked institutions in the region. Extended his congratulations to the students and their families, advising them to view secondary school as just one phase of their educational journey. He underscored that GUC is renowned for its high-quality graduates, who have proven their competence and achieved top positions in their fields.

 

Eng. Tarek Lotfy, Chairman of Dar Al-Tahrir Printing and Publishing House, congratulated the top students on their remarkable achievements amidst fierce competition. He urged them to continue their efforts, emphasizing that the nation needs their talents and scientific contributions.

 

Mr. Ahmed Ayoub, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Gomhuria newspaper, expressed his pleasure in participating in the ceremony and thanked Dr. Ashraf Mansour for his annual dedication to collaborating with Al-Gomhuria to recognize Egypt’s talented youth. Ayoub praised the university's president for his deep belief in Egypt and its people, reflecting confidence in the ability of Egypt's youth to drive progress and development.

 

Mr. Alaa Thabet, Editor-in-Chief of “El Ahram newspaper”, praised the initiative as extraordinary and exceptional, commending the university for its commitment to honoring top students and providing them with scholarships. He highlighted the university’s role in supporting talented youth across various fields and its aim to restore Egypt’s historical prominence in scientific advancement, reminiscent of its ancient achievements.

GUC continues to foster excellence and support the future leaders of Egypt, ensuring that exceptional students receive the opportunities they deserve to contribute to the nation’s progress and development.
