GUC team won the first place in the National Red Cross Moot Court

GUC team for winning the first place in the International Committee of the Red Cross moot court, after passing the preliminary rounds and the semi-finals, and honorably qualified to the Regional rounds on March 2019.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) organizes a moot court competition through two stages: the national stage (which is between all Egyptian universities) and the Regional Law of War. International Human Rights Law and International Criminal Law.

The delegation of the ICRC in Cairo organized the Second National Moot Court- which is in the Arabic Language- and it was hosted in the German University in Cairo (GUC) on the 12th and 13th of December, 2018. Six universities participated including the GUC team. 

The competition also welcomed judges and professors from various legal levels assisting in evaluating the teams including, the Judge Dr. Sherif Atlam, Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal and an IHL, expert, and the Consular Suzan Fahmy, the Assistant Minister for Human Rights, Women and Children and Secretary General of the national committee of IHL in Ministry of Justice.
