Evening MBA + Media Block course
The GUC-DW Master of Business Administration in Media Management offers students a range of courses with practical and real life application.
The Master’s program consists of units in Business Administration as well as specific media-related courses.
Subjects in the field of Business Administration include Strategic Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Business Statistics, Corporate Finance and Research Methodology.
Media-related courses focus on General Media Economics, Specialized Media Economics, Media and Innovation, and Media, Politics and Society, and Journalism. Moreover, students have the opportunity to develop professional journalistic skills through practical media projects (Media Electives I and II) in two journalistic fields.
To complete this program, students must successfully finish 15 courses plus a thesis. The program can be pursued on full or part time bases. Full time students can complete the program in four semesters as shown in the table below:

Part time students may select to take lesser number of courses but will finish the program in a longer time.
The 1st semester provides students with theoretical knowledge and practical insights into journalism. In addition to that, students immerse in business and economic studies, with a focus on media economics. Furthermore, they develop academic research skills.
The 2nd semester focuses on business, strategic and political aspects of media organizations as economic agents. Program participants study the inter-relationship between media, politics and society, as well as media development topics. Interdisciplinary units include editorial, project management and leadership. Moreover, students gain practical knowledge in one of four available journalistic genres: TV, radio, print or online journalism.
The 3rd semester consists of a second media practice project and more specific approaches to communication science. This includes the assessment of international media markets, impacts and interdependencies of new technologies with the media and communication field. Students also expand their knowledge of academic and empirical research methods.
In the 4th semester, students are required to prepare their Master’s thesis which concludes with a colloquium.To complete this program, students must successfully finish 15 courses plus a thesis. The program can be pursued on full or part time bases
Students have the flexibility of selecting the number of courses they can register for.
Attendance of lectures is mandatory. As a general rule each course meets once per week.
Classes are held either from 6:15 pm to 8:15 pm or from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm depending on the class schedule each semester. Some courses taught by German instructors will be offered in intensive weekend blocks; twice per semester on Friday – Saturday - Sunday (Schedule with exact date/time will be sent upon acceptance)
One time admission fee of 450 EGP.
Tuition Fees are 2,600 EGP per course (subject to increase) to be paid in full prior to the beginning of each semester depending on the number courses the student registers for.
A thesis fee of 8,000 EGP is to be paid after completion of the MBA course requirements.
