Description
Based on the knowledge acquired by the students during the previous course (Structural Analysis I),this course provides the determination of normal stress and shear stress distribution over beam cross-sections due to different types of applied loads. It covers also the determination of the extreme values of normal and shear stresses due to combined stresses at a point. A brief idea about buckling of struts and the determination of Euler’s Buckling Load and Buckling Stress is also included. A deep understanding of the topics of this course is an important and essential step towards gaining the required skills of design during the following semesters.
