Electronic Imaging (ELCT 1007)
Offered By:
Information Engineering and Technology Faculty
Description
This course is an introduction to the basic concepts as well as applications of the rapidly emerging field of electronic imaging. It familiarizes the audience with the various components of an electronic imaging system, namely, capture, processing, storage, transmission and output and explains the various technologies that serve these components. Numerous image examples complement the descriptions. Many disciplines of science and manufacturing acquire and analyze images on a routine basis. Typically these images must be processed so that important features can be measure or identified. It is the goal of this course to introduce the fundamentals of electronic image processing to scientists and engineers that must know how to manipulate images that have been acquired and stored within a digital device.
