The Prime Founder of the GUC and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Ashraf Mansour, was invited by the Syndicate for Engineers of the state of Baden Württemberg - the fortress of German industry- to celebrate 25 years on its establishment.

The event was attended by a diversity of distinctive German political figures including the Deputy Prime Minister, the German Minister of Finance and Economy, Nils Schmidt, Ambassador Dieter Haller, as well as the Head of the Economic and Development Department in the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prof. Ashraf’s taking part in the ceremony comes after a year of signing the innovative mutual partnership agreement between the German Engineering Syndicate and the German University in Cairo. Prof. Ashraf Mansour gave a speech to congratulate the Syndicate on its silver jubilee and to elaborate the profound historical relations between the German University in Cairo and the state of Baden Wuerttemberg. The State’s political, economic and educational associations have backed the University since its structuring till the present day, by means of the Patron Universities of Ulm, Stuttgart and Tübingen.

Collaboration in the fields of applied scientific research aims at benefitting from the most up-to-date German trends. It aims at increasing the recruitment chances for GUC engineering students/graduates at German companies either in Egypt or abroad.

On the second day of the celebration, the 19th of November 2015, the German Syndicate of Engineering coordinated a round table discussion, in the honor of Prof. Ashraf Mansour. The assembly sought procedures of realizing compatibility between applied scientific research accomplished by the University and the requirements of industry. In addition to this, the GUC is after opening new channels of unprecedented investments in Egypt to increase the flow of the German capital investments as well as to induce innovative industries in the region.

And as per the GUC perception of encouraging investments in Egypt, the GUC hosted, earlier, high-level German and international delegations from the most influential companies who are affiliates of the Arab German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Berlin. The encounter was held in the GUC Campus in Cairo, where members belong to a diversity of companies and institutions as well as German associations functioning in the fields of transportation, construction, power (electricity and clean energy), gas and water.

The University seeks out, from these agreements, to connect industrial companies and scientific centers together with the research inputs and projects conducted by the GUC scholars; in other words, linking scientific research to the demands of industry. Since its construction, the GUC has been bounded by the realization of integrating research and needs of society. For that purpose, GUC established The Industrial Scientific Research Complex on Campus.

In an affirmation of the GUC’s influential role in relating scientific research to global industry, the University will also take part in Hannover’s annual fair from the 25th to the 29th of April 2016, taking place in the German city of Hannover. The University will join with two innovative inventions; in the fields of Nano-technology and Remote Sensing and Communication.
