1st week

Basic Nutrition

-Electrolytes-

-Acid base disorders

- Macronutrients

-Vitamins

2nd Week

Specialized Nutrition Support Techniques

-Principle of Enteral & Parenteral Nutrition.

-Drug-Nutrient Interactions.

-Patient assessment.

-Enteral Nutrition.

-Parenteral Nutrition.

-Total Parental Nutrition compounding.

3rd Week

Clinical applications

-Nutrition in Cancer patients.

-Nutrition in Bone marrow transplant patients.

-Nutrition in Pediatric patients.

-Nutrition in liver & renal diseases.

-Nutrition in Sepsis patients.

One week round in the 57357 Cancer Children Hospital.

Training will be in the Intensive Care Unit and in the Clinical Pharmacy Unit

With the nutritional support team for the patients in the hospital according to their

Nutritional classification

Each group will be asked to accomplish a research study on the following:

  • Assessment of the patient nutritional status.
  • Patient nutritional needs according to his type of cancer.
  • Provide appropriate care.
  • Follow up for the patient.
  • Propose a nutritional check list.
