German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived at the German International University (GIU) in the New Administrative Capital for its inauguration. He was accompanied by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ashraf Mansour, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo and co-chairman of the GIU Board of Trustees, and Julius George Louis, the Chairman of the GIU Board of Trustees. The event was also attended by a number of diplomats, academics, public figures, and media representatives.

The German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier witnessed the signing of a bilateral cooperation agreement in higher education and scientific research. The aim is to strengthen the partnership and improve collaboration between Egypt and Germany in scientific and academic research, knowledge transfer, and tackling global challenges related to sustainable development.

The Gate of Hope symbolizes cross-border education and embodies the principles of openness and a culture of global peace. It emphasizes that education and science are fundamental to creating a more just, peaceful, and interconnected world.
