November 30 - December 2, 2024 –Cairo, Egypt

The German-Egyptian Microbiome Research Capacity Building initiative (GEM-CAP) is a collaborative initiative between Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the German University in Cairo (GUC), funded by the DAAD Ta’ziz Partnership.

The program is designed to advance microbiome research and promote scientific collaboration between Germany and Egypt.

Through specialized training, workshops, and research exchanges, GEM-CAP aims to build research capacity in Egypt, facilitate knowledge transfer, and develop innovative tools for understanding the role of the microbiome in human health, particularly in gastrointestinal diseases.

The program also seeks to foster a new generation of scientists equipped with cutting-edge skills in microbiome analysis and bioinformatics
