Intelligent Transportation Systems and Travel Behaviour Modeling

Motivation of the Research Group:

To achieve integration between land use and transportation planning and modeling, develop travel behavior analysis and demand modeling. Utilize Information and Telecommunication Technologies (ICTs) in intelligent transportation systems and travel behaviour modeling. Develop an integrated suite of models to estimate the impact of alternative interventions and support the real-time deployment of such interventions to mitigate urban mobility problems as they occur on a daily basis.

Group Research Activities, Expertise and Focus Points:

  • Urban planning and simulation and Intelligent transportation systems
  • Traveller information systems and economic evaluation of transportation projects
  • Social networks and future mobility, and relationships between attitudes and activity and travel behaviour
  • Transportation survey design, intersection design, signal optimization
  • Traffic impact studies, safety analysis, and traffic micro-simulation studies
