German University in Cairo organized a farewell party to HE Mr. Julius Georg Luy, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Egypt on Monday 17th of June, 2019 at Four Seasons, Nile Plaza Hotel.
Prof. Ashraf Mansour, The Chairman of the Board of Trustees with H.E Mr. Julius Georg Luy and his wife Mrs. Luy welcomed a number of public figures and former and current ministers & ambassdors from Ukraine, Argentina,Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Portugal, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Sri-Lanka and Netherlands who attended the party.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour, expressed his gratitude in his speech to Amb. Julius Georg Luy for his continues support in all GUC projects and events and also for his great effort in many activities he has initiated in Egypt that turned into development projects reaching the heart of Egypt.
Prof. Dr. Ashraf Mansour presented to HE Mr. Julius Georg Luy the GUC Gate of Hope (GUC Tor der Hoffnung), which represents the importance of transnational education for connecting civilizations and people all over the world.
HE Mr. Julius Georg Luy, said in his speech that German University in Cairo is the largest German Education Programs all over the globe with 42%. He continued "I was impressed by the success of the university and the story of its creation.My membership in the Board of Trustees of the German University in Cairo gave me the opportunity to deepen the concept of science and my ability to change the world, which sparked my passion in many fields of science.
At the end of his speech, the Ambassador thanked the members of GUC family, led by Dr. Ashraf Mansour, and all the political, economic, cultural and scientific sectors that cooperated with him and he was grateful for the support he received during his term in the embassy.
